How To Sell Diamond Rings

July 7th, 2011

Diamond rings are the most popular in the world when it comes to engagements and weddings. Diamonds light the way to the heart of a woman with just a blink of an eye. There is nothing more precious than a man getting down on one knee and vowing his love, only to pull out a tiny box with a full caret to slide on her finger.

The woman of course is overjoyed and agrees to marry the man of her dreams. A few years to maybe twenty if lucky have been great but then things fall apart and you separate or divorce. What should a woman do with her ring once the marriage is over?

Chips, scratches, and cracks happen if the blow to it is hard enough. Products women clean with everyday adhere to the stone and may cause discoloration. Hairspray is known to make diamonds lose luster and brilliance. Dirt from working in a flowerbed or in a garden makes the look and feel change. Harsh chemicals used to clean the home causes major damage to a ring this beautiful.

Clarity plays a factor in choosing the perfect stones. Clarity refers to the internal flaws and outside blemishes on the stone. Stones that are flawless make the best when buying for a bride. Women know when they are receiving one that has even a slight flaw. As all jewellers would tell you, stones with no noticeable errors or flaws are graded with an F for flawless.

The carets play a large factor for consumer buying power. Depending on your wallet and whether you know exactly what the woman likes, balance size and quality when picking out stones. A full caret is beautiful if it can be afforded. Two women might not like the same carets. One will like a large while another likes smaller. Figure out what types she likes and go from that point. Watching her fingers will be a helpful starting point.

Please do not forget to find out the size of the engagement rings that will fit her finger. Women should not receive it until the size slips on her finger the right way and stays put. Women hate to wait for resizing of any types of rings but especially hate waiting for diamonds to be sized. The ole saying goes diamonds are everything.

Reading about the history of this type of gem will enhance your knowledge if not familiar with certain aspects of the gemstones. The more an individual learns the better equipped in picking out, knowing what to look for and how much to pay. Settling for the first one seen is a bad idea from the start. Look through lots and lots of stores and dealers until the perfect, flawless ones show up. Make sure to find out about certification and obtain an appraisal. Jewelers want money so be sure you get what you pay for if not sure.

Price is placed by beauty, rarity, carat, color and cut. The higher the rating the higher the value, so keep in mind when selecting diamonds to begin with. Not one characteristic is more important over another in quality and appearance. The higher the quality and appearance the better the collection on your hand. Above all else enjoy the purchase made and it will serve as a reminder of a perfect love story.

Using Jewellers Outlets To Pick Out A Present

June 16th, 2011

When someone has decided to head to a jewellers store for a present, they may wonder what kind of items will be available. There are plenty of ideas that can be found in these retail stores. There will be rings to pick from, bracelets, ankle bracelets, toe rings, necklaces, pins and watches. The type of gift that is picked out may depend on the nature of the relationship between the gift giver and the recipient.

A ring can be decorative or plain. It may feature many colorful jewels or just one at the top. Some products will be speckled with small jewels or diamonds. There are special anniversary models and engagement designs to pick from. If someone has a special occasion coming up and they would like to pick up a ring for the big day, they will find something special with their jewellers.

Bracelets can go on the wrist or they can slip around the ankle. Some designs will come with matching sets of ankle and wrist jewelry. People can use these items when they go out to formal events or they can wear them to work. Depending on the style, these units can help to dress up a style. The chain could be wide and thick or it could be thin and small. Some people like to wear thicker chains, while other people prefer a thin chain. The width of the chain may impact how heavy it feels to wear.

Shopping for items in a jewelers location will help someone find a special present. Rings can be particularly meaningful gifts, like diamond rings. Each store will sparkle with new and shiny items. Whether someone wants to dress up the neck, finger, wrist or toes there is something for every style and need. Helpful staff will assist people with their buying needs and ensure that whatever item they are searching for they find.

A necklace can be designed for a formal occasion or designed for casual use. The quality of the chain and the jewels on it may decide on the price and the type of wear it was intended for. These items can come in bright colors and plain styles. The length could be short with the pendant or chain sitting just under the neck, or the style could be long.

Pins can be attached to a garment and worn during casual or formal functions. Pins may feature a special color or style that is relevant to the person it is being bought for. There may be flower pins, animal designs or other fancy patterns. When someone is purchasing a pin they may think about the interest of the recipient.

Watches can be bought for any age group and for any occasion. They make excellent gifts to give someone on a special birthday or anniversary. The back can be engraved with someone’s name or a certain date. There will be sport designs, casual items and formal designs to pick from.

Buying a loved one or a friend a piece of jewelry may be a thoughtful gift. There are many occasions when this type of item is appropriate and well received. Jewellers will each have their own taste and style when it comes to what they have available. Consumers may find a store that they adore and use that one to buy their gift items. Consumers can ask the sales staff for help on picking out a present. They can suggest what looks good with other pieces and help someone find what they need. Package deals that include several pieces of jewelry may help someone get the best deal.

Have you made a huge social error? One of the most brilliant ways to ask someone’s forgiveness for a little mistake in judgment is to present a card with a little piece of personalized jewelry enclosed. The jewelry need not be overly extravagant. It can be as effortless as a necklace that has a pendant with their first initial engraved on it. I t can be a bracelet you made yourself using alphabet beads. If you do not think the person would appreciate jewelry, think about personalizing something else: a small plush toy, a coffee mug, even a set of post-its can be a great gift to communicate how sorry you are for your blunder. If you wonder whether or not the person will appreciate jewelry, think about personalizing another item: like a small plush toy, a coffee cup or stack of post-its can be a nice way to express your apologies for a big whoops.

Another obvious occassion for personalized gifts would be an engagement. Almost everyone celebrates at least one major holiday. Hallmark holidays are a perfect time for everybody to celebrate without restrictions based on religion. Making sure your gift stands out from the others can be accomplished on special occasions. Jewelry is no longer the only affordable gift for personallizing.

Personalized jewelry also makes a great graduation gift. Personalization plays especially well for someone who has graduated from High School. After all, no one can question who those earrings belong to when the owner’s name is engraved in them! Pendants with the person’s picture in them are another great idea. Obviously, graduation gifts do not have to be limited to jewelry. Clothing, towels and other fun items can be personalized as well. In addition to jewelry, you could also give the graduate a picture of the two of you that sits in a frame that has your names on it.

Personalized jewelry can make for a marvelous gift for almost any happening. Whether you are yearning to rejoice for a certain occurrence or give someone a present “just because”, a personalized piece of jewelry will always be happily received!

Demystifying Jewelry Shopping: The Four Cs Clarified

April 16th, 2011

Making decisions about diamond choices can be confusing for consumers new to jewelry shopping. A helpful way to learn is this guide to the basics of diamond quality.

Crucial information makes these pages worth a look for more experienced shoppers as well. Most retailers will have a good quality page of this type, and it’s a good idea to check it out to learn all about the 4 Cs, just to brush up on the differences between diamond clarity grades, and see what diamond-related knowledge they bring to the table.

In addition to their unusual beauty, diamonds are the hardest naturally-occurring material on Earth. Diamonds have many particular characteristics that make them special, and how well these naturally occur or are carried out my the artisans in charge of them are grouped into a list generally called the 4 Cs.

Diamond cut is the most important factor of all. A poorly planned or executed cutting technique can permanently ruin a top-quality diamond, and conversely a lower quality diamond can be exponentially improved by cutting the stone very well. Cut is often confused with shape, the form into which the diamond is cut.

Color is the next step, and this one can be easy to see. Diamond color grades range from D-Z but you won’t find much fine jewelry set with anything beyond K color. Diamonds beyond this color grade steadily decline in rarity and value as they have noticeable yellow or brownish tints. Of course, diamonds with very pronounced natural colors including bright yellows, pinks, and blues are the rarest of all and actually more valuable many types of white diamond.

Clarity is the evaluation of a diamond’s internal and external flaws. Generally speaking, flaws inside a stone are called inclusions while flaws on the surface are known as blemishes. However, for the purposes of grading, gemological labs refer to all diamond flaws as inclusions. It takes several clarity grades to reach diamonds that have inclusions the naked eye can detect, so diamonds with good cut and color and these more or less undetectable moderate inclusions can be a good buy.

Carat weight is the trait most people can see and understand easily– it’s the unit of measure for the weight of a precious stone, and differences are visually detected simply by the size and/or number of diamonds. Diamonds of larger carat weights don’t get proportionally expensive with increased carat weight– they jump a lot in price from one carat to the next because finding large, good quality diamonds is less likely than finding small diamonds.

What is a diamond? Discover this and more by visiting the diamond and fine jewelry experts atEternity Rings and Bands! Their thorough jewelry site offers a number of wonderful rings & an education section offering a diamond clarity chart & many other useful resources.

Are diamond cluster engagement rings still in style?

April 15th, 2011

While I love the glassy look of emerald cuts and baguettes. I’m not that crazy about diamonds to be honest. I wear lots of different color jewelry. So a color stone is out of the question.

I prefer diamonds as accents and broken up as clusters over a single larger stone. So that’s why I’m thinking a diamond cluster or eternity band. I want something elegant and classy. Any other setting suggestions?

Diamond Certification and why it Matters

March 20th, 2011

If you are in the market to buy diamonds, particularly loose diamonds, you will benefit from knowing the difference between certified and non-certified stones. After all, you want to make sure you are spending your money on a diamond that is actually worth it. Thus, understanding what being certified means for a diamond is crucial to buying the best quality of diamond that you can.

A diamond has a large markup in most stores and because of this a certification at least insures the buyer that when they pay a fortune they are getting quality. Without a certification the diamond ring could have inclusions covered up by injecting plastics and glass into the blemishes of the gem stone. The certification can also guarantee the quality of cut, color, and clarity of the diamond.

The Gemological Institute of America offers the most robust unbiased certification regarding the value of a diamond but many jewelery stores do not use them to save money. The cost to certify a diamond may cost $60 – $120 per stone and so this cost is not worth it to some stores. Take Sam’s Wholesale Club for instance, they use their own in house appraisal of their diamond rings which allows them to cut costs and still sale quality diamond rings. The problem is that since the Sam’s diamond ring is not certified by GIA people walk away wondering if the assertions about the quality of the diamond are accurate.

A diamond ring that is not certified by GIA is still valuable but the quality will never be completely understood to the buyer or potential buyers in the future. One reason you do not see diamond commodity exchanges is due to diamonds having large markups on them that make no sense to the reality of the market. The illusion of the expensive diamond ring continues to persist and a GIA certification offers a trust factor to this whole illusion.

A good way to buy a diamond ring that is not certified as GIA is to go with a store that has a return policy provided you buy a ring of 20 percent or greater value. Do your own research by inspecting the diamond up close and ask for a magnify glass. A diamond jewelery store should be able to accommodate all your requests about data and quality scores associated with the diamond and have very generous terms for returning a ring no longer wanted.

A certification is to insure the ring has a quality gem stone as being advertised. A GIA certification makes certain the quality of the ring as well as the price you pay. The americus diamond prices that are advertised on TV offer confidence because of their GIA certified rings. You can learn more about this here: diamond prices
