Is it unfair for your parents NOT to help you out with college?

May 27th, 2010

I just wonder about this.

My parents both work in education. Both have a master’s degree. They both put themselves through college.

They make too much money for me to get financial aid, so I have to take out student loans to pay for my college.

Is it unfair that they don’t help me pay for it? I mean, I’m already in debt almost $7,000 and by the time I graduate it will be close to $20,000. I work while I’m going to school to help, but it doesn’t help too much.

My parents are divorced but both have big houses (3 floors, 4 bedrooms), boats, my dad has four-wheelers, a trailer, 3 cars, him and his new wife have like huge diamond rings that I’m sure weren’t cheap…it just seems like they could have helped a little?

What do you think?
