The Blue Diamonds were an Indo (Dutch-Indonesian) duo consisting of brothers Ruud and Riem de Wolff. Formed in 1949, the Blue Diamonds rose to popularity in 1960 with their up-tempo cover of the 1928 song “Ramona,” which was recorded in several languages and topped the Dutch and German charts. “Ramona” even reached #72 on the Billboard Hot 100. The duo was often dubbed “The Dutch Everly Brothers” after covering many of their hits. This video features the Blue Diamonds’ 1960 covers of two Everly Brothers tunes: “Cathy’s Clown” and “Till I Kissed You”

Boy, never heard of these guys before! Not bad!
It’s interesting that with the very minimal accent on the rest of the lyrics they mispronounced that key line so badly.
Thanks for sharing this video.

This is nice.
it is heavily accented,e,e,”kat eez cloone”but inderstandable.
They don’t look to old in those photos. If they formed in 1949,they must be about the same age as Don and Phil.
They sang severals songs in spanish too…One of them, got married with a mexican singer: Leda Moreno.

Yes, this is a cover. the Blue Diamonds covered several of their songs.
I was pretty sure Cathy’s Clown was by The Everly Brothers . Is this a cover of it or did you mean Everly Brothers. /// :
you’re welcome!
wow…this great. Thanks for posting this.
That’s a very good question. I know they spoke Dutch and Indonesian. They also sang a lot of songs in German and English. They have fairly good pronunciation. My guess is they knew how to speak at least a little English, too.
I wonder if they did this phonetically or they really knew English.
you’re welcome, and thanks for commenting.

eat your heartout Everly Brothers…thanks for posting it…..

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for the posting.
Wow, Great Cover Versions of the Everly Brothers. Never heard this before
I’m sorry to say that “Tokyo Geisha” is not part of my Blue Diamonds collection
However, I’m ALWAYS looking for more stuff by the Blue Diamonds and my other favorite artists from the 60′s. I’m sure I’ll find it eventually… in which case I will certainly post it for you!
Would you have their Tokyo Geisha? The one already posted here is distorted. Hoping you have it and, if you do, hoping you would post it. Fingers crossed.
Looking forward to it.
